We were commissioned by Inner West Council to deliver an installation, public programme and live music performance during an artist residency. This residency was part of the Edge on the Greenway Festival.
Our installation explored the spectrum of sound that exists outside the range of human hearing. Using contact microphones, we captured the sounds of water moving beneath tree bark. We collaborated with two local musicians who created an improvised electronic soundscape in response, using a guitar, bass and pitch-shifting effects processor.
We coordinated this live performance for an audience after dark on the Greenway, hosted on our temporary stage: an undulating surface of 7,000 circular, hand-dyed pieces of reclaimed textiles.
